The East African Seed company Syova has launched improved seeds to strengthen commercial vegetable farming in Adjumani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The improved quality seeds of Tomatoes called \u2018Captain F1\u2019<\/em> and green paper known as \u2018Gallant F1\u2019<\/em> are expected to enable farmers grow climate and pest resilient vegetables and earn more harvest from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While sharing his experience during the launch at Zawadi Hotel on 13th<\/sup> February 2026, Lewis Denis, a farmer from Moyo district, said \u201cI have ever used these seeds and I got 2.5 million from tomatoes. The seeds are also resilient to pests and diseases,\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opi Dominic, a tomato dealer from Pachara Sub County, also testified about the performance of Captain F1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to give a testimony of captain F1. I want to tell farmers that these improved seeds are very okay but need to be managed well,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ganesa Power, the Marketing Director of Syova Seeds, said the introduction of the varieties is based on key attributes observed during demonstrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese are the key attributes to why we are introducing these tomato varieties. We planted a demo garden in Moyo. We had five different varieties and this performed perfectly. African eyes are in our hands. All these qualities you are talking about the green paper, we are going to testify them ourselves,\u201d<\/em> Ganesa Power noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ajire Alfred, the Agriculture Officer Moyo District, appreciated the partnership between government and the private sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe government cannot do all, we are grateful to syova for coming in. We are equally grateful to the input dealers. You are equally doing the same. The government cannot run without the private sector. So, I also thank the farmers. In all areas there are changes. Different technologies in the area of agriculture, transport, music, there are changes that has been coming on and on,\u201d <\/em>Ajire said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
